UC (unified communications) security vendor Sipera Systems reports that VoIP toll fraud is increasing. The company bases its opinion on its discovery of "numerous" cases of vulnerabilities that intruders can exploit to make unauthorized long-distance or international calls through service provider or enterprise VoIP and UC systems, as well as on an unnamed number of confirmed cases of such fraud. The main weaknesses in such systems include network connectivity vulnerabilities, application level vulnerabilities and end-point vulnerabilities.
